Although I am currently living in Atlanta, many who know me
(check out my 50 Random Facts Video On Youtube to learn more, the link can be
found below) know that I always represent and claim NY as my stomping grounds.
When you’re in NYC it’s very common to find food carts on many blocks. A
popular food cart is the Halal cart.
I’m from Queens and in my area it’s very commonplace to find
these Halal trucks on many blocks just like in Manhattan. If you haven’t tried
it, it’s a MUST! The menu is very
concise and delicious. Not all Halal carts are the same, but here’s what I love
to order. I go for the chicken platter that boasts savory pieces of chicken
over seasoned rice. The meal isn’t complete without adding a sprinkle of hot sauce and the famous white
sauce! It adds the perfect combination of spice
followed by a mouth-watering creaminess that balances all the flavors. You can
also get lamb over rice or get a combo and have both chicken and lamb! The menu
also offers Falafel Sandwiches, Gyros, and Kofta Kebabs. The portion size is
satisfying and you can’t go wrong for $6! Plus it comes with a drink (bottled
water or a can of soda).

If you’re in the mood for some of the delicious goodness you
see in the pictures check out Hamza Madina Halal Food cart in Glen Oaks on the
corner of Hillside Avenue and Little Neck Parkway. This is a must for me every
time I go to NY. Do you enjoy Halal food? What’s your favorite location to go
to?
