Song Thai Restaurant & An Evening In Brooklyn

I took a trip to Brooklyn with two great friends and it was recommended by them that I try Song, a Thai restaurant located in Park Slope.

I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant and it’s location, it was very comfortable and relaxing. Luckily we went on a Sunday and my friends and I were immediately seated. Again, since it wasn’t very crowded we were able to have a great conversation and enjoy our food. However, I could see how it could quickly become noisy given the size and it’s popularity. It is a good thing to note that this restaurant accepts cash only!

We started off with some appetizers; we ordered the chicken fried spring rolls. The price was so affordable…. we should have realized it was portioned for one person, maybe two, definitely not three haha but we made it work. The spring rolls were deliciously flaky and buttery. The sauce was so good, it had the perfect amount of sweetness and was a great accent to the rolls.

I’m normally a Pad Thai kind of girl but I said to myself let me switch it up, so for the main course I ordered the spicy noodles. They were sauteed with fresh mixed vegetables and egg in a chili basil sauce. My dish had great flavor and spiciness, absolutely delicious! I tried my friend’s Pad Thai and her order was even more delectable! When I go back I definitely will order the Pad Thai. In addition to the great affordable prices the portions were very generous.

While I enjoyed the food, the service was subpar. I had to ask to have my water refilled each time and our waiter never came by to check on us. With that being said it wasn't enough to deter me from going back; I will be returning!

After enjoying a great dinner I figured since I was in Brooklyn I had to stop by and see the Barclays Center. It opened in 2012; two years later I finally made my way to Atlantic Avenue. SHoP Architects designed the center and the architecture is absolutely amazing! I only saw the outside since there weren’t any events going on that night. In the future I look forward to checking out a game or a concert here.
